Meet Our Coaches

Coach Jason is the Owner and founder of Homerun Legends. After being on or around a baseball or softball field his whole life, he took on his true passion of sharing his knowledge with the younger generation. Jason has been coaching since 2002, and giving hitting lessons for the last 15 years at his home facilities, local parks and cages, and really wanted to bring a facility to the area so that coaches would have a climate-controlled, dry place to teach, and players would have a great place to learn! In 2022 Jason opened Homerun Legends and has been doing lessons here ever since. Jason specializes in hitting and the mental side of the game, he is a student of the game and is excited to share that with the youth in our area! Currently, Jason is the Head Coach of the Phenoms Mizuno 16u Scout Baseball Team and Coaches Varsity and JV High School Softball during the school season.

My name is Shaun Stidham, after playing baseball for 16 years of my life, I'm very thankful for the opportunity to help the younger generation develop and achieve their goals through the sport I grew up playing and fell in love with. To have the chance to make a difference in their lives and give back to the same community I played in is going to make this experience worth while. -Shaun Stidham

Rudy Smith is a passionate baseball instructor at Homerun Legends who believes baseball is about more than wins and losses—it’s about building character, confidence, and faith through discipline and hard work. With collegiate pitching experience at Pearl River Community College and the University of North Alabama, Rudy brings both high-level knowledge and a purpose-driven approach to player development.

Rudy currently helps coach the Phenoms 8U, giving him hands-on experience working with young athletes in real game situations while emphasizing fundamentals, effort, and teamwork.

He offers hitting, pitching, and defensive instruction for players ages 7 through high school. His lessons are high-energy, challenging, and intentional, with a strong focus on proper mechanics, mental toughness, and doing things the right way.
Above all, Rudy creates a positive environment where players learn accountability, respect, and perseverance. His mission is simple: develop the athlete, strengthen character, and inspire players to compete with faith, confidence, and purpose.
